I enjoyed this book: there's heartache, death of a loved one, and a coming of age story amongst other things. It was better than I thought it would be.

Incredibly touching and it makes you feel for the characters. This is a deeply emotional book and I recommend it for anyone who wants to take a break from fast paced action.

Incredibly touching, highlighted by humor and moving family situations. Also deftly discusses sickness, death, and racism in very poignant and accessible ways.

This is hands down the best book I've ever read. I love Cynthia Kadohata, and something about this book spoke to me. Worth the read!

One of the most inspiring books I've ever read. This book shows loyalty, sisterly bonds and the tough times these sisters go through. Very well written.

Its is about two Japanese sisters, one of whom gets cancer. The story is told by the younger one, and its about how she and her family cope with it, on top of money issues and other problems.
