Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name. She's determined to escape him, and willing to take any risks necessary to survive. Unexpectedly, however, the two have a dangerous encounter with people who adhere to a code of justice all their own. At the center of the dispute is a desperate young woman whom Emory can't turn her back on, even if it means breaking the law. As her husband's deception is revealed, and the FBI closes in on her captor, Emory begins to wonder if the man with no name is, in fact, her rescuer.

I love Sandra Brown and this book is good, not her best, but still an enjoyable read. Her best will always be for me anyway, The Crush. Still recommend as a good read and an author that does not disappoint.

Amazing read! Couldn't put it down and finished it in one day. Loved the characters and the twisty plot. Totally surprised by the ending. This book has it all - romance, suspense, and a few turns that totally threw me off guard. Would definitely recommend.

I loved it. I think this was definitely one of her best! From the start, I could not put it down. So many twists and turns it kept me wondering what would happen next.

an adventure thriller, with romance. I really liked the adventure, a few twists I didn't anticipate, but the romance I could have done without.
Dr Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician, who is also a runner, goes on a run in a remote wilderness area. She wakes up disoriented, in a cabin, shut in with a mysterious man. The weather keeps them isolated at first, then, they have a good deed to perform, and then she is returned to "civilization"- and everything that ensues...

This is a great book. As a big fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher story I found many parallels in this book and loved everyone bit of it. I'll read more Sandra Brown books now.

I want the story to continue, tht's how great this book is. I love it , I read it through the night

This is a great book... a real winner for Sandra Brown
