This book blends a light amount of magic with realism for a perfectly charming romance. I read the first book in the Friday Harbor series and liked it so I wanted more. I love the island setting and the small town. The nice thing about this book is that it isn't necessary to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one. Reading book one will give you some details about the side characters and especially Sam's family, but feel free to pick this one up even if you haven't read the others. I loved the character and the romance. Sam and Lucy make a great couple. I will definitely give book three a chance.

Good read. Quiet, complex couple well developed character in Lucy. I would have liked to see more of a development with the difficult sister relationship. Nice slow love story. I would give it a 4/5 stars.

Yet another wonderful and heartwarming romance from Lisa Kleypas! This book series really makes me want to visit Friday Harbor (I've never actually been even though I live in Washington State). This book features Sam Nolan (Mark's brother from Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor) and Lucy Marinn. Lucy has a unique sort of magic in that she can make glass alive i.e. like a hummingbird. I actually quite liked this little supernatural twist (Sam also has a magic green thumb under which his vineyard flourishes). It was great to see Mark, Maggie and Holly throughout the story. I can't wait to read Dream Lake next, which is the story of Alex, the youngest Nolan brother.

Sweet story - I thought the conflict was a bit overly drawn out. I'm looking forward to Alex's story.

Only got introduced with the Friday Harbor series. This is another good easy read. Loved the magic. I'm on the hold list for number 3 can hardly wait. Looking forward to the fourth coming next year.

Meh. This was nowhere as good as her regency romances, but it was a pleasant, light read. Also, the paranormal aspects were not really needed to further the story along, so I kept wondering why they were their. Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite romance writers; I just wish this one had been a little better.

This is the sequel to 'Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor'......excellent!... and I can hardly wait for the 3rd book in the series.
