Bissonnette, a career development coach who specializes in adults with Asperger's syndrome and nonverbal learning disorder, offers a self-help guide for negotiating working life as a neuro-atypical individual. She considers nonverbal communication and how to be aware of it, making first impressions and other people skills, managing others and yourself in a professional capacity, office politics, dealing with aggressive or unfriendly people, developing your career, and more. Each chapter is structured around common concerns and challenges like the anatomy of a welcome lunch, being critical of others, being a good team player, building on strengths, planning projects and more. An appendix written for employers of people with Asperger's syndrome is included. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Giving adult "spectrumites" insight into how the "normal" person thinks, reacts, and responds does help alleviate some problems that are experienced in the work place. However, it's not going to help with the total butt-heads you meet there and there are plenty! This is an exceptionally easy to read book, a little patronizing but with good intention.
