After watching the miniseries a couple of years ago, I became very intrigued by this crazy feud between these families and across the border of West Virginia and Kentucky in the late 19th century, so I immediately added this book to my shelf. This book read very easily because the author told it as more of a story, very linearly from beginning to end. There were a few unnecessary chapters that detailed too much about another feud going on, but other than that, it was interesting and kept me reading! Is this going to be a book that everyone should pick up? Certainly not. But if you have an interest in the Hatfield and McCoy feud, absolutely read it. I think this gives a very thorough account of the feud.
