James Dashner has never ceased to amaze me. This book (and series) is so good! I do have to point out it is a little complex and I think that is why a few people find it boring, but personally, I love it. It's a very intelligent series, it's fast paced, thrilling, and kept me reading. These are some of my all time favorite books and I'm rereading them again!

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this book. The subject matter is interesting, and there was enough tension to keep the pages turning. But it made no real lasting impression. It's missing *something*.

That said, the ending was excellent and is the only reason I'm rating it as high as 3.5 stars.

BORING!!!!!!

I was pretty excited about reading this book, after reading the awesome maze runner series. But I started this book, and I was instantly bored to death. It was a little exciting, i thought the idea of a virtual world would add a cool twist, but the virtual world i just like the real one. I put the whole series on hold, only to realize I couldn't even finish plowing through the first book. Bored me to death, don't read.

The eye of minds is a wonderful book that is about a boy named Michael that is obsessed with gaming and is really good at it. His skills are very helpful especially when the security are needing him and his friends to help save the world. But there is a bit of a surprise at the end leaving you wanting to read the next book. I would recommend this book to people that have read the Maze runner because it helps you understand a bit more about the Maze runner.

This was an awesome book to get into. I haven't read any of James Dashner's books until this one. And I have to say, each chapter is simply a page-turner!
If you like anything to do with technology, and you are familiar with this generation's current lingo, (as I am) then you will definitely appreciate this book! I enjoyed all the references, (and even caught some references alluding to his other series "Maze Runner") and his sense of humor, and it was overall a spell-binding book to read!
Highly recommended.

The Eye of Minds is an absolutely thrilling story set in a futuristic world where artificial intelligence has become the centre of human lives. The main character, Michael, is a gamer who possesses excellent coding skills and is chosen for a task that can save mankind. Along with his reliable friends, Michael enters the virtual realm, only to find out that it is a threat to real lives. The plot helps to develop a strong characterization of Michael. No matter the complexity of the problem, Michael solves it by making tough decisions with a thoughtful and brave approach. Overall, the action in the story is fast-paced and full of suspense, accompanied by unimaginable dangers lurking behind each corner. The cliff-hanger ending of the book easily convinces the reader to continue reading the series. For those who enjoyed The Maze Runner, The Eye of Minds will be impossible to put down!

In a world where gaming revolves around a highly sophisticated virtual reality called the VirtNet, Dashner tells a story similar in style to his bestselling The Maze Runner, although very different in plot. The book is very well written and offers a sufficient amount of character development for one to synthesize with the protagonist. It has a complex plot, with even subtle details that can change the entire plot and bring little bits of suspense at every turn. There is a good deal of action throughout the book, but does not stop and focus on this primarily- the book is an intriguing read that unveils little bits of information at every turn. The conclusion of this book, however, is one that brings an enormous plot twist to the book and changes everything for the rest of the series. Rated 4.5/5 for considerably suspenseful plot, decent character development, lots of action and an extreme conclusion that will throw every reader off.
