Food Matters doc. was done a lot better.

I've watched this film 3 times and I've learned something new every single time. A majority of the people who are interviewed know what they are talking about because they've experienced it - whether it be obesity, cancer, or depression - they've been through it and more importantly, they got through it. And on top of that, many of them have gone on to write books or do talks that have influenced many other people to change their lives.

The first part half of the film does aim mostly on WHY and HOW people are so overweight and unhealthy, but if you stick around long enough, they DO in fact tell you what kinds of food are idillic and they also talk about what kinds of food to eat to cleanse your body.

I think one of the biggest steps toward becoming healthy is learning why and how you got to being unhealthy in the first place. It's important for people to know these things and I would say this video is very educational, and like I said, I've learned something new every single time I've watched it.

This video was very weak, it did not go into any detail concerning a healthy diet, just told you all the things that are wrong with the average American diet. The people who were interviewed did not give any dietary details about how they lost weight or "beat" cancer. I was very disappointed..There are other much better films that actually tell you what to eat, rather than what not to eat. A good example for weight loss is "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" a very inspiring film.

As far as it goes the information is good. It emphasizes the food like food available in supermarkets and restaurants does not deliver nutrition. It is too bad it didn't cover more of the problems created by eating this high fat, high processed carbohydrate diet. It does state the processed carbs make you fat which they do, but I would have liked them to state more of the digestive process that creates this as even a commentator here didn't get that connection.
Fork over Knives is better, but if someone is just trying to understand why loosing weight is hard for them this is the DVD to watch. Simple statement for that problem is effectively delivered.

Excellent documentary. Starts out with 'why' and then leads us to 'how'. Very complete and inspirational. It's not just about losing the weight, it's about living in our bodies they way they were designed and created to be lived in and feeling amazing!

I preferred Forks Over Knives, but this does have a good message about a dietary lifestyle versus going on a diet (and regaining weight). It does feature Dr. Mercola, who has a terrible reputation (just check out wikipedia), but what he says in the program seemed correct.
I found the film was somewhat inconsistent in its message at times.
