The asinine user below is a sneering, snot-nosed little suck who practically rates every movie she sees with a lousy 1-star rating, or less, and the same goes for every CD she rates, too.

I am really sick of this sniveling turd posting comments on this website. I sure wish that she would just bug off.

If you want your film to be "over the top" then you should hire Darren Aronofsky as director.
His first major film, "The Wrestler" was probably his best work. After that one, the looniness increased markedly from "Black Swan" to "The Fountain" to this abomination, "Noah". Ole' Noah spouts cliches at every opportunity and perhaps his only redeeming feature (and an extreme stretch on the biblical source) is as a human hating environmentalist.

This version of the story of Noah comes from anti-christian sources.
When originally released, they conned some people into thinking this was sourced from the Holy Bible.

You have to go into this movie knowing they are not trying to represent the bible one for one. It's also good to think of this happening in a post-apocalyptic world way in the future, rather than way in the past. I would watch it again, and I often find it pop into my head.

A truly horrible movie. Absolute bottom-of-the barrel garbage. A total embarrassment on all counts. I loathe Russell Crowe.

This is an appallingly bad movie. Nothing whatsoever redeems this one.

Another typically oddball movie from Darren Aronofsky who takes the biblical flood story of Noah and bends it into some interesting shapes. If you approach it as the director trying to reimagine the story as an universal flood myth set in a forgotten age of legends where the distance between men and God was much closer than in modern times, it may seem to make more sense that expecting a straight retelling of the Genesis story. It is a movie where some of the changes seems to work while others don't seem to make sense. The one flaw I had in the movie was the director in order to have "drama" onboard the boring seabound Ark resorted to Noah's misunderstanding God's instructions(bad cell reception) causing conflict with his family and the bigger showdown conflict with a dangerous stowaway. Neither of those last twists really work in the 3rd act of the movie but the movie is more ambitious than several new movies put together even with it's flaws.

Noah: The time for mercy has passed. Now our punishment begins.

Noah: A great flood is coming. The waters of the heavens will meet the waters of earth. We build a vessel to survive the storm. We build an ark.

Noah: Fire consumes all. Water cleanses. It separates the foul from the pure. The wicked from the innocent. And that which sinks from that which rises. He destroys all, but only to start again.

He chose you for a reason, Noah. He showed you the wickedness of man and knew you would not look away. But then you saw goodness, too. The choice was put in your hands because He put it there. He asked you to decide if we were worth saving. And you chose mercy. You chose love.

Noah: "We broke the world -- we did this. Man did this. Everything that was beautiful, everything that was good, we shattered. Now, it begins again."
