"In their first adult novel, authors Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan take on a story of romance and rivalries inspired by today's most talked-about royal couple: Will and Kate. "If I'm Cinderella today, I dread who they'll think I am tomorrow. I guess it depends on what I do next." American Rebecca Porter was never one for fairy-tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it's adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall - and thus Bex who accidentally finds herself in love with the eventual heir to the British throne. Nick is everything she could have imagined, but Prince Nicholas has unimaginable baggage: grasping friends, a thorny family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a native. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex reflects on what she's sacrificed for love -- and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.""-- Provided by publisher.

Decent alternate reality royal wedding romance with about 15 million similarities to Will and Kate.

A guilty pleasure read with an interesting premise and some delightful supporting characters and funny lines. I would have found it even more pleasurable and less tempting to skim and skip ahead if the authors had written a much leaner story, say by cutting the page count by 1/3. Deleting the many, many alcohol references might be enough to achieve that. If you played a drinking game with this novel by taking a sip every time a character drank to excess, you’d have to be hauled off to the ER before the final scene.

I was really looking forward to read this book as I had heard such good reviews. Initially it was fun to read however after the first few chapters I had to stop reading as it could not hold my attention. I did finish the book but all in all it was an OK read not as fabulous as the reviews state.

What fun chick lit! The story line will make you think of Will and Kate but we all know this book is make believe... Fun, witty and charming. Good read!

I read this based on an Entertainment Weekly review. I really liked this book. It was a nod to the Kate & Will story, with lots of politics and back stabbing thrown in. I would recommend this read.

Based loosely on the real-life story of Prince William and Duchess Kate, this is a fun, insightful, and sexy look behind the scenes of royal romance. Family secrets, wonderfully written romance, humor, and even a little blackmail all combine in this perfect royal romp. Recommended by M.O., Medina Library, MCDL

Don't usually read books in the romance vein. (Unless it's sci-fi, such as Bujold's "A Civil Campaign")
But the plot line was different and Entertainment Weekly gave it a good review...and I was 63 of 126 when I put a hold on the book.
But the point is, I enjoyed this very much.
It was funny, a little sad and the character's were interesting and believable...which meant some of them were not as nice as others.
A fairy tale, yes...but in a more or less plausible way.

A fun read, insightful look at how the media treats the royal family ~ Sarah

Fun, well-written chick lit.
