This series makes for fun mixed age read alouds. My 2nd and 1st graders really loved it, boys and girls equally. It’s a more fun to read aloud than Ramona Quimby!

Cute, well-written beginning chapter book series with engaging and spunky characters. Also would make a great read aloud.

Piper is a realistically passionate second-grader who finds (creates) just enough conflict to have interesting stories without ever being unappealing or a troublemaker. Her unusual setting makes her situations even more interesting. She is relatable and accessible, and Potter writes her with a narrative voice that is natural, understated, and articulate.

A gentle addition to easy reads, or read-alouds for first and second graders. You'll be cheering for Piper even as she causes a little chaos on her island home.
