Awaiting the birth of his first kittens, feline P. I. Joe Grey, his companion Dulcie, and their furry sleuthing pals must unmask a killer preying on some of the most vulnerable citizens in the charming California coastal community of Molena Point..
For Joe Grey and Dulcie, life is a bittersweet mix of endings and beginnings. While they joyfully await their first litter, they are also sad for their friend, the old yellow cat Misto, whose time on earth is drawing to an end. But Misto tells them an exciting future awaits: among the litter will be a little calico returned from the distant past who will be born with the same ancient markings, and the adventurous spirit of Joe Grey.
While the proud parents await the birth of their babies, their humans have their hands full with projects of their own. Kate Osborne has bought the old Pamillon estate and Ryan Flannery is building a new cat shelter as part of their volunteer rescue project. The criminals are busy, too. The Molena Point PD has stepped up patrols to apprehend a mugger attacking the local elderly. The case becomes a homicide when one of the victims dies, leaving everyone in the townincluding Joe and Grey and his furry sleuthing companionson edge, just when the kittens are about to arrive. When Dulcie gives birth, her little calico is just as Misto predicted, as if she has come back to the world from mythic ancient times.
But the celebrations will have to wait. A murderer is on the looseand neither young nor old is safe until the culprit is found.

I have read 19 of your books in the Hannah Swenson series and have taped the six made for TV movies which I watch all the time BUT I am soooooooooooooooooooo disappointed that in the Wedding Cake Murder book she marries Ross and not Mike. How could this happen. Mike and Norman were there throughout all the books and all of a sudden some guy named Ross comes into the picture and Hannah gets married to him. Very very disappointing.

Main character, Hannah Swenson, finally goes to the altar with the man of her dreams--but not before she wins a tv cooking show and solves a murder along the way! Always a series I enjoy.

Finally the wedding we have waited for through many many books but not either of the two we have grown used to throughout the series. Sets up though for something later. Many red herrings and not that easy to pick the who did it or why.

Another fun read, but a little on the too sweet side.

This one was typical of the rest in the series. I enjoy them because they are light, clean reading.

Yeah! This book shows that JoAnne Fluke's writing is back to the interesting style and contact of the early books in the series. After the progressively disappointing writing in the past 3 books, I had swore I'd never read another....that is, until I read that this book was centered around Hannah's upcoming wedding. I didn't expect much from the book (as I just wanted to find out if she'd actually get married or not...don't worry, I'm not telling), so I was more than pleasantly surprised at how mush I enjoyed this book and am really looking forward to the next in the series.
