Not his best. Its very good and exciting. However, I just read "Relic" by the same author and this one is nowhere near as good as that masterpiece. This one is Lincoln's single book. "Relic" is apart of an excellent series called "The Agent Pendergast series" Those are WAY better and I highly recommend them for a fun, summer read!
Horribly formulaic, nothing original, and terribly disappointing from an author with such an impressive body of work as Child
Terminal Freeze --- by Lincoln Child. --- You’ve got to admit it, in Terminal Freeze; Child does what he does best: scare the livin’ daylights out of you. Set in the high Arctic, next to an extinct volcano, named aptly enough, Mount Fear, in a long disused military base, a film crew bent on producing the mother of all documentaries and the base’s skeleton military force stumble upon, what? It’s a monster. It has no vulnerabilities and almost no Achilles’ heel. Child dishes out fright, thrills and mystery. Your hair stands on end; your flesh crawls and you knees turn to jelly. When you read this book in bed, read under the covers with all the lights on and the TV turned up loud downstairs. And be prepared to read deep into the night: this book is impossible to put down.
Couln't finish this book. Started off well, but somewhere along the track it just didn't interest me.
Started off good.Have read a similar book about frozen monsters
Didn't like the finish
I liked it right up until the last page. The monster is oddly entertaining and the characters are believable.
Skip the last page of the book, though with the author's lame attempt to make the story something grander than a monster story. Leaev it as a monster story and enjoy it as a monster story...it's actually a pretty good one.
If an animal with pointy big teeth is frozen in the ice then perhaps that is where it best stay. I cheered for the beastie the whole book.
