But the expedition is not all it seems--their supposed benefactors are attempting to kill them. I picked this up based on the cover--and guess what, that's okay! Because this turned out better than I expected. It's got some history, mystery, and then (surprise!) turns into this (bloody) thriller. It's a bit hard to follow near the end, but don't let that discourage you. It helped get me out of my YA reading slump, too.

This was a pretty good story. I did find it a bit hard to follow, though

This was an interesting thriller/mystery/supernatural story that kept me on my toes, but I just had a hard time really getting into it. I wasn't totally sold on the way the teenagers got to this manor, though I understand why it was set up the way it was. I did enjoy the plot-twists we slowly learn about as we read this story. Overall, it was an interesting read, just not my forte!
