There were some pacing problems with this book. The first half of the book drags by and can feel like a chore to read at times. The second half picks up the pace...a little too fast sometimes. Before I knew it the book was over, the concluding chapters kind of just slam at you. Which is a shame because it seemed like this was the last book in the series?? (Someone please prove me wrong, the character dynamics were just getting good!) Younger kids will probably still enjoy this, but the ones a little older might be annoyed by the pacing.
