This book is a funny and entertaining, yet informational, book on lying. It defines lying, explains different kinds of lying, and more.

Kira Vermond digs down into the truth about lies with her appealing, kid-friendly writing style that breaks down the topic into bit-sized facts. Each chapter is only ten pages long, and these are further broken down over each double page spread. Images, side boxes, and post-it notes highlight certain facts too. Vermond presents the topic in a neutral light, explaining what is and isn't a lie, what the pros and cons are, when and why lies are needed, and fills the book out with amusing or relevant examples from history. She also speaks directly to readers in an informal manner. While she never preaches, she will put in an asides like "Just so we're clear, this was not your best moment", for things that are definitely morally wrong. All of it is in good fun, and the more actively curious readers will especially enjoy the final chapter titled "Spot the Liar".
