A thorough, non-traditional approach for learning to knit. Introduces decreases, increases, chart reading and other "advanced" skills early in the book. No time to develop fear of "hard" techniques! Clear photos to illustrate techniques and useful descriptions on why you would use a stitch pattern (e.g. it makes a fabric that looks the same on both sides). Limited discussion on yarn fiber types. Only 5 patterns/suggestions on what to do with with knitted squares so the book is a well thought out stitchionary than a pattern book.
