It should be called, "Bleep"!

I think “Veep” is hi-larious (yes, “hi-larious”). Season 5 is overflowing with fearless, profane, political satire, led of course, by our comedic national treasure, Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She is sooo good as President Selina Meyer that she makes you forget she has played any other TV role. But the show is not just “The Julia Louis-Dreyfus Show”, as wonderful as she is. The supporting cast is terrific, as well. On “Veep”, none of the characters seem to actually like each other and a devilish sense of schadenfreude permeates their workplace. They are all so addicted to power, or the proximity to power, that they will stop at nothing to be a part of the extremely dysfunctional Meyer team. Season 5 picks up where 4 left off, with the results of the presidential election in an Electoral College tie, which means the election will be decided by the House of Representatives. Ginormous boulders of comedy gold are mined from this premise. And the day to day governing process is a deep, rich vein of rollicking humor, as well. President Meyer and her administration lurch from crisis to crisis, just trying to keep their heads above the roiling political waters that threaten to engulf them all. And, of course, each of the characters has a personal agenda, in addition to their professional duties, and sometimes (well, most times), the personal and professional clash, leading to more hilarity. My sole gripe against “Veep” is that they only produce 10, half-hour episodes per year. C’mon. You guys can do more than that.
