Becca's only hope is that her twin sister will find her. That perfect little priss Cassie will stop following the rules and start breaking them, before it's too late. Because her jailers made a mistake that could get them both killed: They took the wrong twin.
Seventeen-year-old Becca Greenfield was snatched from her small hometown. She was thrown into a maximum-security prison and put on Death Row with other kids her age. Until her execution, Becca's told to fit in and shut her mouth... but Becca's never been very good at either. Her sister Cassie was always the perfect twin.
There were no charges. There was no trial. There will be no escape.

I read the first few chapters and thought the book had promise. Cassie's growing concern for her absent sister and the hinting at the dystopian nature of the setting were intriguing.

Then... they switched to Becca. Who proceeded to spurt (fairly hardcore) obscenities every other word, if not more frequently. This would have been bad enough for an adult title, but this is billed as a "teen" book. Yeah, I get it: Becca's the rebel, the one who thinks outside the box. And yeah, I get it: she's in a situation where most people WOULD swear, and this is a future version of our world, so it makes sense, yadda yadda yadda... I really don't care. Hunger Games was that way, too, yet Katniss managed to keep her language fairly tolerable, and the story lost nothing by it. Adding swear words for "authenticity's" sake just shuts the book off from a large swath of potential audience.

Including myself. I opted not to finish the book. There are plenty of other books out there - teen and otherwise - that are just as good as this book seemed like it could have been, and without profuse swearing.

I pacereally liked this book because it was exciting and fast moving it was like the adventure was never going to stop. This book would be good for anyone who is looking for a fast pace book that has a bit of blood and romance.

In my top ten favorite books by so far!
Loved every minute of page turning. Never a dull moment.

definitely not an adult book. It would have been nice if there was any indication from Patterson. The story line is so close to Handmaid's tale. How appropriate to have it at the same time that Atwood's book and television series is so hot!
