Loved it on two people bonded because of similar background & upbringing.
Oof. Joe was classic file on how not to do a foot surgery that shortened his career.
Learned the Italian philosophy La bella figura Joe practiced.
Chuckled his nervousness & going goo-goo on a date with female reporter who don't know baseball.
Thoughtful on Joe's dad could not go into his own restaurant during world war II because he was enemy alien or that United States at war against Italy.
Loved how he went to author's home to ambush indifferent mattress deliveryman for a simple talk.
Marveled at inviting Frank's friend to dinner even though Joe had a huge falling out with Frank Sinatra.
Author embarrassed & probably scarred on Joe's explanation of why his marriage with Ms. Monroe failed. Hint: it wasn't the sexual attraction or the graphic sex life.
Puzzled of how he was dragooned as gumshoe by lawyer for very important court case.
No idea why author wrote on Joe's last ten years of his life. You be the judge of that.
