Seriously, this was the worst movie! I can't even believe they read the same book.

Good movie if you don't read the book first!

Great photography in the mountains - Stretches the reality button as far as a real plane crash outcome - Very predictable from start to end - A fair time waster -

Worth watching for the gorgeous scenery alone. The behind-the-scenes extra features reveal the months of planning and logistics that went into this movie. The production team and the actors endured high altitude settings, weather extremes (-38 temperatures), etc. Props to Idris Elba and Kate Winslet for doing most of their own stunt work. Winslet even took the plunge (literally) and did a near-drowning scene in sub-zero conditions. Very impressive.

Excellent film!

Great performances from Idris Elba, Kate Winslet, Beau Bridges, and the dog!

Love the final song by Zayn! Excellent film!

Kate Winslet & Idris Elba must bond and find their way out of a life threatening situation. Beautiful scenery, very well produced film with a strong story line. Basically, 2 actors and a dog. Well done, but pretty predictable.

Completely disappointed with this movie. I read the book first and loved it!! The movie changed much of the major facts of the book. You love the Ben in the book as he is kind and compassionate and capable and takes initiative. The Ben in the movie is weak and needy and needs taking care of. The Ashley in the book is funny and needs Ben to survive. But the Alex in the movie is very strong and not really likable and moves around great for someone who has a fractured leg!! No chemistry or character development in the movie. Missed out on the recorder aspect being a huge theme of the book but not in the movie. Just so disappointed I can barely finish the movie!!

I've tried to watch it twice now but still haven't put it in the player. And based on some of the comments, I may have been doing myself a favour.

Aug 20, 2018 of the worst films I've ever seen. Won't be able to ever watch any movie with Elba or Winslet again -- complete trash

Surprised that this quote from the book was left out the movie:
“... the mountain between us is one I cannot climb .”
We can go three weeks without food, three days without water, and three hours without shelter.
I owe you an apology. I did find that beacon. I saw it. It was smashed to pieces.
-No, you didn't know that when you came looking for me, did you?
If we stay here we're safe. If we leave, search and rescue, they're less likely to find us.
-Look, I don't want to die up here because you're too scared to take a risk. We have to do something.
Ben... do you actually know what it means to be reckless? It means to abandon safety.
- I know exactly what it means, Alex. And sometimes... But right now... Right now, we don't have a choice, okay? Nobody knows where we are. You know, all we have is me and you.
And the heart is just a muscle. Right?
-What idiot said that?
