A rather fun fantasy adventure film for children; there is lots of childish humour in it; the overall mythic shape to the narrative makes its shortcomings bearable.

Fun, but predictable, and full of just about every Follywood cliché.
Lucas does pretty much a carbon copy of his story formats and style.
Ron Howard does a good job with Direction.
And Kilmer is excellent, as usual.
But personally, I think Kevin Pollak & his sidekick saved the film.

"No! Don't! There's a- a peck here with an acorn pointed at me..!"
Best line of the movie.

Very good fantasy actioner. Not as good as I remember it. A bit too kiddy for me as an adult, but could be a great movie if watched as a family. Looks good not great by todays fantasy standards. Some very memorable lines and moments.

Willow is easily one of my favorite movies from the '80s. I first saw this movie in the theaters and have seen it at least twenty times since. This movie is well directed, well scripted, and wonderfully cast. I would recommend this to fans of the Lord of the Rings Series, as well as anyone looking for a good action/fantasy movie.

One of my favourite movies! Fans of Princess Bride would like it - lots of sword play, magic and adventure. Some scary parts, so not for young children.

Madmartigan: Did I really... Did I really say those things, last night, in your tent?

Sorsha: You said you loved me.

Madmartigan: I don't remember that.

Sorsha: You lied to me.

Madmartigan: No, I... I just wasn't myself last night.

Sorsha: I suppose my power enchanted you and you were helpless against it.

Madmartigan: Sort of.

Sorsha: Then what?

Madmartigan: It... went away.

Sorsha: Went away? "I dwell in darkness without you" and it *went away*?

Willow: See this acorn? I'll throw it at you and turn you to stone!
Madmartigan: Ooh, I'm really scared. No! Don't! There's a- a peck here with an acorn pointed at me!
