Add a Commentwhat a charming book, i now have to read his other books. Norton is a cat to remember. I love the way he is treated like royalty at least in europe
This is a perfect book to read while you're waiting for your request on Dewey the Library Cat to come in. It's the purportedly true story of a cat-hating, egomaniac screenwriter who had the amazing fortune to have received a 6 week old Scottish Fold kitten who immediately reversed his cat-hating tendency. This kitten had many unusual qualities of exceedingly good cat behaviour - so much so that the egomaniac could take Norton (named before the days of anti-virus) on a plane ride and he would sit still on his lap the whole way. He also came when he was called. Norton charmed everyone he met except for the a number of the screenwriter's girlfriends - clearly these were the wrong girlfriends and they would soon be dumped. For someone who, by his own descriptions seems like such a jerk, the author does a masterful job of describing the irresistible cat character. There are 2 more books in the series, but I'm not sure I could bear the last one which describes Norton's senior years and ultimate demise. This book had not as much Paris as I anticipated as there were many shorter trips to other destinations before they actually went to Paris.
