This movie is a funny depiction of what truly does go on in real life. The chickens at a Yorkshire chicken farm become terrified when they realize that they will eventually be slaughtered. But, after an American rooster ends up at the farm, hope arises that the chickens can learn how to fly in order to escape the farm. Sadly, time is running short as a new chicken pot-pie machine has been installed. This movie is funny, charming, and represents the real-life practices of chicken slaughtering on chicken farms. If you have a slight interest in darker humor and children’s movies, this is the movie for you. I would rate it 4/5 stars. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library

Absolutely hilarious. A true stop-motion animation classic. The parodies of other movies keep coming: "The Great Escape" at the beginning, "Saturday Night Fever", "Alien/s", "Indiana Jones" (and every action movie ever made) in the middle, and "Star Trek" at the end; the latter is set up early but doesn't hit its payoff until later (which makes it all the funnier!). Great stuff for kids and adults.

Done by the same guys who also did "Wallace and Gromit".
The fairly basic premise of a farm & its animals seemed to constrain the joke possibilities.
Nicely claymation-stop-animated, but noticeably less funny to me than the "Wallace and Gromit" Collection.

A thoroughly delightful film from beginning to end. Fans of "The Great Escape" will find the opening sequence a real treat. Highly Recommended.

Great work from the same people who've done the Wallace and Gromit animated work. It's a very funny, very well paced story centred on chickens looking to escape any way they can from a farm. The story might well work better for adults than children, particularly in its sense of humor and its homage of the Great Escape. The characters are very well developed and the voice casting is ideal. The end result gives us a terrific villainess, general craziness, and good comedic timing. Even if the chickens all have teeth....
