okay so I lied I really liked this one too, enough to read it again as well.
But you know I did say best book so far

Reminiscent of Dickens (where disparate seemingly minor characters meld together) with romance novel overtones. Worth sticking with to the last 10% where twist follows twist. Good education of Portugal's history and language.
