3 discs - When McKinley Morganfield migrated from Mississippi to Chicago in 1943, the stage was set for the emergence of electric blues.

Thanks to Chess Records most of the best Chicago blues performers got recording contracts. One of the best was Muddy Waters and the Chess Box Set has a complete selection of his material on their label. This was the prime of Muddy's long career and you won't find much here that isn't solid blues. Muddy always had the best band members, who once they earned their stripes, went on to start their own bands. A Great Box Set!
