A student of famed Juilliard teacher Dorothy DeLay, who also taught Itzhak Perlman, Midori, and Gil Shaham, Nikolaj Znaider was the first prize winner of both the Queen Elizabeth Competition and the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition. As the Chicago Tribune raved, "Znaider may not be the easiest name to remember, but get used to hearing it. He deserves to go far and he will."
