Sense Pass King, as her name implies, might be too bright for her own good when a cowardly and dishonest king becomes jealous of the people's regard for Sense Pass King's kind intelligence in this retelling of a Cameroonian folktale. Hyman's warm acrylics are as always rich in pattern and detail. They invite the eye into spend time with the tale, expanding on and underlining Tchana's words with witty and mischievous animals and disbelieving villagers.
