Two bumbling burglars plan a robbery with a young woman they just met. Problems begin immediately when they both fall for the girl and the plan goes haywire. The jewel-heist plot is merely a jumping off point for Godard's fast-paced mix of fantasy and spoof of Hollywood crime films.

'Clever' more or less sums up this piece of movie making. Our trio of hipsters come together to make off with someone's ill-gotten gains. The visual glossary, included with the extras in the Criterion edition, is quite enlightening and probably essential viewing for purposes of content and context. Three solid performances by the lead actors. A delicious dance sequence, called 'the Madison', as a centerpiece. Watch this, and think "Pulp Fiction". One final note: you can tell a lot about someone by the way they dance. You can watch your feet (Arthur), feel the music and the rhythm (Odile) or 'style and profile' (Franz). What kind of dancer are you? Maybe it depends on the song that's playing.,,

I loved some of the scenes, the techniques, etc and the comedy, but I didn't like the movie and characters as a whole.

Filled with mocking; sometimes rather funny; ultimately a clever entertainment.

Godard/Karina with comprehensible plot and wonderful minimalist camera work.
