“Love Liza” is a small indie with a thirtyish Philip Seymour Hoffman doing a film in collaboration with the screenwriter, his brother. It is a film of an increasingly isolated young man becoming addicted to sniffing gasoline, barely surviving after the unexpected suicide of his young wife. How strange, as it may resemble some of Hoffman’s last days where he was entrapped in a heroin drug addiction spiral, isolated in his New York apartment!

Hoffman is the only good thing about this movie, other than that it is a waste of time.

Good - Love Liza (2002) 90 min. Emotional melancholy is portrayed to perfection by Philip Seymour Hoffman about a man whose wife commits suicide and must deal with the loss. Some twists in the plot and Hoffman’s sympathetic role make this a worth-while film to watch.
