David Pogue’s Digital Photography: The Missing Manual. --- by --- David Pogue.
My copy of this book was copyrighted 2009 but it was very useful nonetheless. And what a useful book it is! And apparently it’s only one of a whole series of “Missing Manuals” published by Pogue Press. Apple Script; Photoshop C4; eBay are just a few examples.
“Digital Photography” really is “the book that should have been in the box”. It is practically oriented when it comes to the capabilities of your camera. Shutter lag; forced flash; slow-synchro flash. When and how to use burst mode. Exposures and bracketing. Shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Depth of field.
Composition is touched upon; so is taking pictures under different conditions. There’s even a section on dealing with you photographs in the computer.
A very, very helpful book. And to think, I stumbled upon it by chance.
