Likely a great emotional movie for women after their husband left them unexpectedly for younger models, at least if the women are as pretty and with means like the featured woman.

After 30 years when it was first shown, it still looks contemporary as ever. Jill Clayburgh's shot to fame and an Oscar nomination as well. Beautiful musical scoring that is so New York! Paul Mazursky's tour de force...everything else is simply dessert!

Jill Clayburgh, Alan Bates, Michael Murphy

Erica (Jill) has it all - a beautiful home, a great job, a bright daughter, and a loving husband (Michael).
Suddenly he leaves her and Erica feels rudderless and is shattered.
How does vital, contemporary woman pick up the pieces and start over?

Quite an erotic, yet a passionate movie.
