Lovely homage to Morse in this pilot.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Inspector Lewis is a great series about an Police detective working in Oxford England. Produced by Masterpiece Mystery Theatre. Very well done.

Intricate crime story with many twists and turns. Nice pilot that teamed up Lewis and Hathaway.. unlike subsequent episodes, the caption was amiss, no signal for HDMI and somewhat jumboed using AV port.

as good as the Inspector Morse series. Lewis/Whately is a worthy successor to Morse/Thaw. More?

The first episode of the series. Lewis returns to a new job and is partnered with the inimitable Hathaway who deftly hides a brain like Einsteins . Lewis' down to earth northern working class attitudes work very well with Hathaway's brilliance and intellect - to say nothing of the occasional caustic remark. I really enjoyed this SO much that I went through every episode in a month or two and was never disappointed !

Thank goodness Kevin Whately agreed to this series. I watched episode one with a critical eye to see how this spinoff of Morse would live up to the original successes of Inspector Morse.
The parts of Hathaway and Lewis work, with wry humour and excellent character acting. I'm sure Colin Dexter, the author, is still keeping an eye on this series.
