Duane allman was a real contradiction. On the one hand he appears to have been somewhat of a lowlife. Wild and crazy: taking icredible chances with his health and life. But then you look at his approach to his chosen profession: playing the guitar. The work ethic and the success he had doing it. He wanted to be the best and in his short life he came close to being just that.Maybe to play the blues you have to pay the dues. What an interesting and tragic figure. Any book on this guy is worth reading.
