This retelling of the myth of Orpheus in the form of a depression-era dutbowl opera is without a doubt my favourite concept album of all time. The casting is impeccable and the writing superb. Greg Brown singing Why We Build a Wall is my highlight, but yours will vary. Highly recommended for anyone who loved O Brother Where Art Thou.

An amazing Americana opera - great premise, moving emotions, challenging ideas. Orpheus and Eurydice may want nothing more than to get out, but "Hadestown" proves a great place to spend an hour.
