A great read. Hunter's firearms technical accuracy that he's known for was spot on as far as I could tell, but his military accuracy needs some work. The U.S. Marine Corp does not have Apache helicopters! Still very much worth the time if you enjoyed the previous Swagger books.

High points of this novel for me: Ray Cruz's superb escape from his trackers in the original Afghanistan mission; Bob Lee Swagger's meal and interaction with the TGIF waitress near Camp Lejeune, NC; the technical discussion of Col. Norman Chambers' gun expertise and private sniper school; Zarzi's watch collection with all the winders; the Air Force pilot seeking the villain of the piece with her drone. I could go on. How about the gunfight at the Baltimore car wash... More of the great stuff from Stephen Hunter - yay !

Stephen Hunter does it again. A superb action thriller with memorable characters and the requisite amount of technical detail to provide a degree of verisimilitude. The writing is brilliant, though the denouement drags a bit.

I like the fact that Hunter has added a new member of the sniper family into the fold. We started with Bob Lee and then read stories about his father and now meet the newest sniper in the family.

Dynamite plot and riveting characters.
