We Steal Secrets

the Story of Wikileaks
Jan 16, 2014binational rated this title 5 out of 5 stars
OUTSTANDING documentary. This is great investigative reporting, not advocacy. The US government is justly critiqued for shameful concealment of murder and torture of innocents in Iraq and Afghanistan. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is shown in his full contradictory complexity. A man with a great idea who in effect destroyed the organization with his narcissistic flaws. Bradley Manning emerges as a courageous but tortured soul whom the US military subjected to brutal revenge (with the approval of President Obama) while withholding trial for three years. Not a pretty picture, just truthful.
