Byram a.k.a East Port Chester

This most western "village" in Greenwich - and the State of Connecticut, I might add - has a very unique history. Greenwich Library has a number of Oral History Project Redbooks, which provide an immense amount of information on the history of the area.

    Shell Island is considered to be part of Byram. It was once owned by the Greenwich YMCA, and is now a partial wildlife preserve.
